Discrimination against women in the Third World as a result of colonialistic exploitation is the main cause of poverty and poor economic development. Poor standards for women has resulted in lower standards for men. The article looks at the causes of Third World problems by examining employment, education, demographic aspects, agricultural production and health. Feminists need to realise that sexual discrimination is not cultural but political.fr
